timethread is an exploration into a human’s subjective understanding of time. Through research of how different cultures around the world perceive the passing of time, I envisioned a sculptural timepiece that questions the static face of the analogue clock.
Sketching Concepts exhibiting this different understanding of how time works.
This project focused a lot on filtering visual imagery around different understandings of time. Below are the mood boards that were three conceptual focuses for ways people perceive time: growth & decay, dystopian utopia, and identity crisis. I wanted to illuminate how this dichotomy of polychronic and monochronic time is already present in visual data, but challenging to integrate. What do we prioritize?
